Crewe & Nantwich MP Smith accuses Govt of ‘smoke and mirrors’ over schools funding

New Crewe and Nantwich MP Laura Smith has accused the Government of “smoke and mirrors” tactics over its latest schools funding pledge.

Education Secretary Justine Greening announced yesterday that a revised National ‘Fair Funding Formula’ would pump an extra £1.3 billion into schools.

Cheshire East Council leaders have welcomed a Government announcement for a public consultation on plans to build a HS2 Hub station in South Cheshire.

The consultation was unveiled today (July 17) by Transport Secretary Chris Grayling who confirmed Britain’s high speed rail lines to the North West, East Midlands and Yorkshire.
