Registered childminders in Nantwich will get a chance to meet Cheshire East Council’s family information service later this month. During the session at Nantwich Children’s Centre (pictured), childminders can learn how to promote themselves by providing a list of their services, like school pick-ups in a certain geographical area.

Campaigners fight Stapeley 1,300 home plans

Campaigners fighting to prevent more housing development in the Stapeley area of Nantwich have launched a new website to encourage others to join the protest. The site, www.protectstapeley.org.uk, highlights fears over potential development of 1,300 homes on land between Broad Lane, London Road,  Peter De Stapleigh Way, and the bridleway known as Deadman’s Lane.

A patient in Leighton Hospital who was suspected of suffering from leptospirosis does not have the deadly infection, tests have shown. The patient was in intensive care displaying symptoms of the condition, also known as Weil’s Disease, which is caught in rivers and canals infected by rat urine.

BREAKING NEWS… Lorry accident on A500 at Reaseheath

Drivers are being warned of long delays after a lorry accident on the A500/A51 roundabout near Reaseheath College, Nantwich. The incident is ongoing and police and highways officers have closed off the roundabout in all directions as well as Barony Road into Nantwich. A police spokeswoman confirmed the lorry overturned and crashed into a lamp-post before spilling its load of grit across the carriageway.
