NHS South Cheshire CCG faces ‘massive challenge’ to reduce £5 million deficit

NHS South Cheshire clinical commissioning group (CCG) faces a ‘massive challenge’ to reduce their £4.9 million overall forecast deficit – and ‘sufficient plans’ are yet to be put in place.

Health chiefs discussed a finance report, as well as the draft financial plan for 2018-19, during a governing body meeting for NHS South Cheshire CCG and NHS Vale Royal CCG at Bevan House in Nantwich.

Figures released by the Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust board of directors show patients were left waiting for more than four hours on 4,931 occasions in December, January and February.

Leighton Hospital could struggle to close the gender pay gap due to the number of female nurses they employ, trust bosses have claimed.

Tracy Bullock, chief executive of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, told board meeting directors there will be “disparity” between pay for men and women employed by the trust due to the number of women in lower-paid nursing roles.
