Leighton Hospital has introduced pioneering surgery that allows patients with cataracts in both eyes to have them operated on at the same time.

Traditionally, patients with bilateral cataracts have surgery on one eye before returning weeks later for the second eye to be operated on.

Number of Cheshire people seeking help over child sex images doubles in six months

The number of people in Cheshire seeking help to stop looking at sexual images of children online has more than doubled in just six months, latest figures have shown.

In the six months between July 2017 and January 2018, 163 people in the county contacted Stop it Now!, the child sexual abuse prevention project run by child protection charity The Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

A commemorative service was held at the Royal Air Force’s Memorial at Bridgemere to remember the crew of a Wellington bomber which crashed near to the village.

The commemoration took place exactly 74 years to the day the plane disintegrated over Bridgemere, crashing just off the A51 and killing six of the seven crew.
