A man found stabbed to death on New Year’s Day in Derbyshire was originally from South Cheshire, it has emerged.

Martin Griffiths, a former Shavington High School pupil, was found dead with his partner Helen Hancock (nee Almey) at a house in Duffield.

Janet Maughan, of Overwater Marina, presented RDA volunteers Irene Pawsey and Liz Cleghorn and Bobby the pony with a donation instead of sending out Christmas cards to the marina’s clients and suppliers.
