Eight new animal cruelty complaints in Cheshire are being received every day by the RSPCA, new figures show.

The RSPCA investigated 2,787 complaints about animal cruelty in Cheshire last year – with eight new animal welfare concerns being looked into by local inspectors every day.

Members of Rotary Club of Nantwich have raised more than £1,600 this year to help a Nepalese village rebuild after the devastating 2015 earthquakes.

A cat named Lucky after being rescued from the streets by the RSPCA is hoping her name will finally bring her good luck – after a run of bad fortune.

The six-month-old kitten is currently at RSPCA’s Stapeley Grange Cattery, in Nantwich, after spending the last four months recovering from various health issues.
