READER’S LETTER: Communities on slashed gritting routes left out in cold

Dear Editor,
It’s now nearly two years since I ‘called in’ the CEC Labour/Independents Cabinet decision to cut winter gritting routes and six months since a decision was made somewhere in the corridors of Cheshire East Council, that despite a second consultation, confirmed the cutting of miles of the highways network from the Adverse Winter Weather gritting scheme.

READER’S LETTER: Three days of carnage on Coole Lane

Dear Editor,

To Cllrs Browne and Corcoran.

In launching your 2022/23 budget consultation you claim a balanced four-year budget but totally ignore the impact of ‘your policy’ of cuts to rural areas and passing on cost to Parish Council’s via your ‘highway pilot top up scheme/price list’.

READER’S LETTER: Why no crowds at Crewe lights switch-on?

Dear Editor,
At their recent meeting, I criticised the Labour run Crewe Town Council for not allowing the people of Crewe to attend the official switch on of the Xmas Lights.

Usually this is a big event, which marks the beginning of the Xmas celebrations, with entertainment and street stalls etc.

READER’S LETTER: Councillors should lobby for better broadband in Crewe

Dear Editor,
I am calling on the local Labour run Town and Borough Councils and the Tory MP to lobby the Government hard to improve broadband speeds in parts of Crewe.

Crewe is already the most economically and socially deprived town in the whole of Cheshire East.

There is a fundamental gap between the vast amount of digital data we have access to and the real world in which we use it.

While our reality is three-dimensional, the wealth of information we currently have to guide our decisions and actions is stuck on two-dimensional pages and displays.

READER’S LETTER: Disappointed over MP’s sewage vote “bluster”

Dear Editor,
I was disappointed by the irrelevant bluster that Dr Mullan threw at us as justification for his voting to allow water companies to dump raw sewage onto our rivers and on to our beaches.

Under current laws many water companies have been fined for just this practice.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
