Business leaders and dignitaries from across South Cheshire had plenty to chew over at a celebratory VIP event at the new Miller & Carter restaurant in Crewe.

They gathered alongside Crewe Alexandra’s first team squad who fuelled up on protein ahead of Saturday’s pre-season game against Premier League Burnley.

Mayor of Cheshire East Cllr Barry Burkhill and Mayor of Crewe Cllr Benn Minshall were among the guests as the restaurant on Nantwich Road celebrated its arrival.

As well as a selection of tasty meats, guests were treated to a demonstration by the company’s Master of Steaks as well as cocktail classes.

A raffle helped raise hundreds of pounds for the Crewe Alexandra Soccer Centre used by hundreds of local children each week.

Oliver Jones, general manager of the Crewe Restaurant, said: “With more and more people becoming more discerning in their food habits, we decided to host a closed evening for people to experience what we have to offer at our restaurant.

“We are known for delivering signature steak experiences and we are delighted to be serving Crewe and its surrounding areas, with our premium reared beef.”

The restaurant, recently awarded Master of Steaks by the prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs, was keen to show off its premium cuts of meat.

Mayor of Cheshire East, Cllr Burkhill said: “With investment being poured into the Crewe area with a number of regeneration projects, we will see a revival of Crewe.

“It delights me to see big business chains like Miller and Carter rooting themselves into the area.

“With the arrival HS2, I hope to see a lot more high-profile businesses join the likes of Miller and Carter in creating a more vibrant community, providing not only new jobs but investing in our local community.”

Mayor of Crewe Cllr Minshall added: “Crewe now proudly hosts an impressive range of places for people to eat at.

“Rightly so, a town the size of Crewe should have a diverse food offering which caters for all tastes.

“The arrival of Miller & Carter has certainly been a welcome addition to the town, and it has helped breathe new life into what used to previously be a popular establishment for local people.

“I have eaten here on three separate occasions now and I would highly recommend it.”

Managing director Mala Nucibella of Cre8tive MarComs, who helped organise the event, added: “We are keen to help local businesses in readiness for HS2 and will be focusing on trying to help business directors increase their revenues with our expertise.

“It has become clear that Crewe area has untapped potential, and with work beginning on a £3m project to refurbish Crewe Market Hall and other projects on the go, the time for Crewe to attract new business, create new job opportunities and regenerate the area is now.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
