A South Cheshire mum has launched a new range of kids’ gift cards aimed at promoting kinder messages and positive behaviours.

April Woods, from Church Minshull, has launched “Littleapesloveto” based on an old nickname she had as a youngster.

The former Stapeley and Audlem resident wanted to design and launch cards which promote “kindness” and “positivity”.

And already April, who used to work in the motor industry, is steering ahead with her project after having plenty of interest from retailers keen to stock her designs.

She said: “I am new to this industry but have worked with young children previously delivering healthy eating presentations in schools, many years ago.

“I am just really worried for future generations and think it must be so hard bringing up young children now with all these worries.

“I wanted to come up with lovely products for children that would encompass a kind and positivity message as I feel this is so important.

“I just wanted to think of something that would help spread the ethos of kindness and positivity and thought cards are a relatively inexpensive way of doing this.

“They can open up conversations and support parents and others doing their best to inspire the next generation in their efforts to be happy, kind and embrace respect for all people, animals and the environment.

“Children are often praised for their beautiful looks, their mental agility which is great.

“But I think it would be wonderful if they could be praised more for their acts of kindness and generosity of spirit.

April’s book called “Midge Cat Movie Maker” is aimed at pre school children.

It’s about a cat called Midge and his best friend called Charlie who live their dream by becoming top movie makers when Charlie gets a camera For his birthday.

Subsequent books show them filming other animals carrying out acts of kindness and becoming superheroes.

“If any nurseries would like me to come in and read it to the children I would be delighted,” added April.

“I appreciate that cards cannot stop all the terrible things that are going on.

“But to coin a phrase ‘every little helps’ and I am just hoping if enough adults want to create a better kinder world for the next generations to grow up in, then hopefully It will happen.”

April is now on the hunt for a business partner to help distribute her children’s products.

Her new cards are printed on high quality card by Nantwich-based printers Johnsons.

Her book is available in Nantwich Bookshop and a selection of cards available in Magpie cards and Bizzybods in Nantwich as well as Little Gems in Sandbach.

“The proprietors of these shops are wonderful people and are being very supportive and I can’t thank them enough for their help and support,” she added.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
