Golfers joined the directors of Amplo Group on the fairway for their South Cheshire Charity Golf Day to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.
Amplo Commercial Finance and Amplo Mortgages & Financial Services clients, business connections and introducers tee-ed it up at Wychwood Park Golf Club for a competitive tournament.
The seven teams were formed from local business owners such as Steve Smith at MacStore UK, Jay Street of Modus Personnel, Ryan McCandless of SmartaStudio, and property investors and developers from the local area and further afield.
There was support from businesses sponsoring holes: MacStore UK, UK Rooms for Rent, Bay Property, IronMarket Risk Management, Habitans Lettings & Sales, Modus Personnel, Dane Valley Financial Services and J.D.F Consultancy.
Winners were Saif Rehan of Mauve Group taking first place followed by Jay Street and Ryan McCandless.
The team winners were the 6th group made up off Jay Street, TJ, Rich Greenhill and James Millington.
Prizes also went to winners in the individual competitions – closest to the pin challenge on the 2nd went to Adam Brown, on the 6th went to Mark Nicholls (Bay Property), on the 11th went to Steve Burns (Iron Market Risk Management) and finally the longest drive challenge went to Joel Dovey (J.D.F Consultancy).
The day began with bacon rolls and buck fizz and was rounded off with a two course dinner, awards ceremony and a raffle – prizes included a 2017 refurbished MacBook donated from the MacStore UK and Afternoon Tea for Two with Prosecco donated from The White Lion, Weston.
To round up a hole in one day, because of the kind generosity from all the players; over £1,000 was raised for MacMillan with donations still coming through.
Matthew Timms, Group Director, said: “From myself and everyone at Amplo, we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended our annual Charity Golf Day.
“Also a special mention to all of the companies that sponsored the event and to those who donated raffle prizes – it is greatly appreciated.
“An absolutely fantastic day was had by all, the sun was shining, the course was in great condition and the hospitality we received from all at Wychwood Park was second to none – We’re already looking forward to next year’s edition.
“Our Golf Day has now put us over our company charity pledge to raise £2,022 in 2022, we’ve raised £2,902 in six months.
“Even though we’ve smashed our target, we have plenty more planned for the rest of the year.”

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
