Summer networking proved a splash hit with local businesses who attended a popular Final Friday event staged by South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce at Aqueduct Marina near Nantwich.

The marina provided a picturesque backdrop for the monthly breakfast get-together which is part of a busy programme of events organised by the Chamber to help businesses of all sizes to connect and make new contacts.

Recent events included Round the Screen networking on Zoom and Speed networking at Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa.

In the pipeline are an online session to help Maximise Your Membership and make the most of being part of the Chamber community on August 17.

And there will be fun making new contacts during Round the Table networking at Crewe Market Hall on August 19.

Businesses can sharpen up their sales skills with Sales Geek at Stapeley House on September 23 and learn more about changes to the telecoms industry with Eze Talk at the White Lion in Weston on September 27, staged as part of the Chamber Share series.

The Chamber’s Nantwich office on Hospital Street is the venue for regular drop-in afternoons and there are plans to reintroduce a popular Meet and Eat event where networking takes place over lunch.

Events spokesman Dominic Hibbert said: “We go all out to help local businesses connect and raise their profiles.

“Final Friday is always a popular event, staged at a member venue and is the perfect trial event for non-members to find out more information about us.

“Our visit to the marina drew representatives from a diverse range of businesses and we look forward to meeting more when we visit Apollo Buckingham Health Science Campus on September 30.”

Solicitors, accountants, bankers and estate agents joined marketing specialists, charity representatives, publicans and hotel owners for breakfast in the marina’s Galley Café and a tour of its award-winning facilities which include moorings for 147 narrowboats.

Now the Chamber is well ahead with plans for its 25th anniversary Business Awards on Friday, November 18 at Reaseheath College in Nantwich.

There’s a series of free workshops to help businesses create an award-winning entry with the next taking place at the Chamber offices on August 19.

Dominic added: “With the launch of the Business Awards, we are delivering workshops to support the entry process.

“Entering for an award provides a structure to review the strengths and weaknesses of a business.

“It raises profile and establishes a benchmark for further success. Win or lose, the awards are a great process to be part of.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
