A team of employees from Crewe-based Optimum Pay Group will tackle a charity challenge in aid of homelessness.

The four, headed up by UK sales director Tamara Beckett, will take part in a 24 hour “stay awake” challenge on the streets of Crewe.

They want to raise awareness and funds for Crisis – the national charity for people experiencing homelessness.

They will be spending the time on the streets without the normal comforts of home such as shelter, safety, running water, beds and beauty items.

Optimum Pay Group wants to raise funds for Crisis, which not only deals with people experiencing homeless directly but also campaigns for changes to help prevent future homelessness.

The impact of Covid-19 has sparked a rise in homelessness with 160,000 people either sleeping rough or in temporary housing.

Tamara Beckett, Optimum Pay Group’s UK Sales Director, said: “In the modern world of convenience, it is all too easy to take all you have for granted, I know I have at times.

“That’s why I whole-heartedly believe in treating everyone as I would like to be treated.

“I’m taking on this challenge, to get a minor glimpse into how experiencing homelessness can affect a person whilst raising funds to help reduce and prevent homelessness in the future.”

The Optimum Pay Group team will start the challenge at 8am and follow it through to 8am the next day.

They are aiming to raise £3,000 for the charity.

To help end homelessness and support the team in their fundraising efforts you can donate or share their Just Giving page.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
