Organisers of Nantwich Food Festival have issued thanks to local businesses for helping to keep the annual event alive.
The three-day foodie extravaganza is run not-for-profit by volunteers for the benefit of the town and will be staged again from August 30 to September 1 this year.
It attracts more than 40,000 visitors, 220 exhibitors, and it is estimated brings in an additional £2 million to the town.
All exhibitors pay to exhibit their products, and the festival is backed by a number of local sponsors.
Christine Farrell, Festival Chairman, said: “We have been very fortunate to have the support and backing from local businesses over the years.
“We are indebted to them all, and particularly Nantwich Town Council, the prime supporter of the Festival.”
Major local business Mornflake will sponsor the Festival for the 11th year, selling their Cheshire-milled oats, muesli and granola from the Mornflake Pavilion on the Bowling Green.
Mornflake’s freshly made porridge is also available, along with artisan hand-made flapjacks and other oaty goodies from their Oatopia van in the town square.
Multi-award winning Cheerbrook Farm Shop in Nantwich will host a marquee in the town square.
Many local suppliers will be joining them with cheeses, wine, beer, soft drinks, baked goods and fresh meat.
Sponsorship manager Chris Willcocks said: “Sponsors don’t need to be food companies, so we are delighted Nantwich businesses Applewood Independent Financial Advisers, and Hall Smith Whittingham Solicitors will again co-host the marquee at Love Lane.
“Both have stalls within their marquee, enabling them to welcome visitors.
“Applewood Independent Financial Advisers have also agreed to be headline sponsors of the Nantwich Food Awards for the second year.
“The festival organizers sincerely thank all sponsors for their continued backing.”
