A developer building 28 homes in Tarporley village near Nantwich says it will invest £143,000 to help village projects.

Jones Homes is building 28 homes at Chestnut Grange just off High Street, Tarporley.

The company says it will contribute more than £117,000 to support local schools as part of its planning agreement.

A further £14,000 will be given to Cheshire West Council to fund improvements to the play area at Tarporley Community Centre.

£5,800 will be invested in local sports pitches, and £6,500 will be spent on maintaining the car park next to the development.

Gemma Pownall, sales director for Jones Homes North West, said: “Chestnut Grange is helping to meet the need for new homes in Tarporley.

“As communities grow, it is important the infrastructure they require is in place. Our contributions through the planning process ensure this is the case.

“In Tarporley, education was highlighted as a priority and we are pleased that primary, secondary and sixth form pupils will all benefit from our investment.

“This, along with the money allocated to play facilities and parking, demonstrates the wider benefits that new homes can bring.

“The location of our new homes close to the High Street will also help to support businesses in this already thriving village.”

Chestnut Grange includes two to four-bedroom houses. Jones Homes has pledged to preserve the Victorian post box on the site.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
