Traders turned out in force to help a Nantwich hairdressing salon celebrate a belated 20th anniversary.

Steven Burgin on Hospital Street welcomed friends from neighbouring businesses on Hospital Street, known as the lifestyle quarter of Nantwich.

The salon had planned to mark the milestone two years ago but then the pandemic hit and plans were put on hold.

Among the traders helping the salon to celebrate were Alan Griffiths Jewellers, Arabella Womenswear, AT Welch Delicatessen, Brookshaws butchers, The Cheese Shop, Nantwich Nutrition and Pockets Menswear.

Salon owner Steve said: “We are known as the lifestyle quarter of Nantwich with so much to offer townspeople and visitors alike.

“You only need to look down the street to see the special effort made to add colour and character with flowers and Union flags flying.

“It’s great to have been part of this vibrant community for more than 20 years.”

Over the years the salon has scooped awards from hairdressing suppliers Joico and has raised money for charitable causes including Charity Water which brings clean water to families in developing countries.

It is currently running the *One of a Kind* campaign to reward good deeds in the community with a free make-over for local people who are nominated each month.

Steve, a hairdresser for 40 years, added: “How people look is all wrapped up in their confidence and emotional well-being and I never tire of making people feel better about themselves.

“This was really evident during Covid lockdowns when people couldn’t wait to come back to have their hair cut and coloured again.

“Nantwich has a lot of salons for a town of its size but I’m pleased to say the Steven Burgin brand has stood the test of time and we are busier than ever.

“This was a little celebration to say thank you to fellow businesses ‘on the street’ for their friendship over more than two decades.”

Health and wellbeing specialist Carol Sinfield, of Nantwich Nutrition on Hospital Street, said: “It’s quite something for a salon to still be going strong and doing good things for local people after more than two decades.

“Steven Burgin is a landmark on Hospital Street which I am proud to call home to my business.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
