The new seafood restaurant at Churche’s Mansion in Nantwich plans to double its capacity.

Owners of the new venue, which opened with a funding package worth £500,000 from HSBC UK, currently cater for 55 covers.

And Kyri and Sophia Haelis are hoping to double this to 110 by expanding the dining area to the first floor of the building, one of the oldest in Cheshire.

After buying the historic building, they used HSBC UK’s funding package to fit-out their premises with a high-spec kitchen and a 55-seat dining area, as well as refreshing the building’s décor and developing a customer cark park.

The new restaurant has created 18 jobs and expects to achieve a turnover of £900,000 in the next 12 months.

Sophia Haelis, owner of Churche’s Mansion, said: “The funding from HSBC UK has allowed us to sensitively turn this beautiful 400-year-old mansion into an exclusive seafood restaurant that offers delicious, seasonal food all year round.

“Since our launch, we’ve been overwhelmed with the positive feedback and warm welcome we’ve received from the local community.”

Melissa Orpe, of HSBC UK Liverpool & Cheshire, added: “We’re delighted to have supported Churche’s Mansion in the development of the new restaurant.

“We believe the restaurant will be a huge success and we look forward to seeing it delight customers and create new local jobs.”

This funding was part of HSBC UK’s £1.05 billion lending fund for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the North West.
