Nantwich firm Boughey Distribution has appointed Alex Hall as its new Finance Director.

He joins from GXO Logistics and takes over the role at Boughey following the retirement of Ian Sherratt who held the post for the last 10 years.

Alex began his career with Wincanton as an assistant accountant in their foodservice business before progressing to the role of Finance Manager supporting a number of the company’s largest contracts.

He moved to US firm XPO Logistics, initially as a Finance Business Partner before stepping up to become the Head of Finance of one of their UK Business Units.

He went on to hold this position for two other XPO Business Units before moving to the newly-created GXO Logistics, as part of the company’s spin-off from XPO in 2021.

In his new role, Alex will lead the company’s finance team responsible for financial planning and analysis, and accounting activities, as well as supporting the business deliver positive financial results.

He will also report on Boughey’s financial performance into the NWF Group’s Board of Directors.

Angela Carus, Boughey’s Managing Director, said: “Alex brings with him an impressive 16-year track-record of financial expertise and experience within our industry, all gained with major logistics companies.

“He is a great addition to our Board, bringing a wide perspective, ideas and energy to our business.”

Alex added: “Taking up my inaugural directorship with an established and successful company like Boughey is a real opportunity for me.

“This is a special business with long-standing partnerships with food industry customers, a committed team of people and a refreshing ability to work flexibly and quickly to react to customer needs.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
