A Willaston councillor is staging a birthday celebration to help raise money for village causes.

Cllr Brian Silvester’s party on the evening of January 21 takes place at Willaston Social Club.

There will be a prize raffle and an ‘Auction of Promises’ to raise money for causes including Willaston Pre School and the St John’s Parent and Toddler Group Willaston.

Cllr Silvester said: “I am really grateful to all those who have offered raffle prizes or auction promises or have generally assisted in the organising of the event.

“We will have a really enjoyable evening and at the same time we will be raising money for local groups that do so much for our local community.

“It is always good to support local volunteers who give so freely of their time to help others.”

Singer Tim Gallagher, winner of the local Star Quest competition in 2008, will perform and Willaston Chippy “Mick the Chip” will provide refreshments.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
