Nantwich Town Ladies (1)

Nantwich Town Ladies have been accepted into Women’s FA Cup for first time in the club’s history, writes Jack Beresford.

After securing promotion in the 2020/21 season, The Dabbers are now eligible to play in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

They will start their historic journey in the First Qualifying Round on Sunday September 12 away at Didsbury Ladies.

Manager Chris Broad said: “It’s fantastic news that the club has been accepted into this seasons Women’s FA Cup in just our second season.

“It will be a historic moment on September 12 when we step out in what is a famous competition.

“I’ve been very proud to steer the team to what we have achieved so far.

“It will be a proud occasion to stand side by side a fantastic set of players as we dream of what could be in the cup.

“We will go into the game with nothing to lose and everything to gain. We will give our all and see where it takes us.”

Broad revealed that they will be without key player Kerry Green as she requires surgery which will rule her out for a number of months.

“It’s a real shame for Kerry, who has this week been ruled out for a minimum of six months and may require surgery after that if her recovery from a knee injury doesn’t go as planned.

“We wish her a speedy and straight forward recovery and will hope to be successful for her as well as ourselves, the fans and all who have supported us on our journey so far.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
