steve langstaff -the granary

Local poet Steven Langstaff will be performing live at The Granary in Nantwich on August 19.

Steven, originally from Hull, has lived in Nantwich for five years and has previously performed twice at the Edinburgh Fringe.

He has also worked for children’s television with BBC’s Dick & Dom, and has played at the Nantwich Words & Music Festival twice, once in support of Lemn Sissay MBE at his sold out show in 2019.

Steven is also a regular on the Manchester spoken word circuit.

He said: “This gig represents the start of The Granary’s move to become a leading light as an arts space in Nantwich!

“There’ll be poems to make you laugh, think and possibly cry, as well as games with prizes!”

The show at the new arts venue on Welsh Row is Thursday August 19, doors at 7pm, tickets are £5 from The Granary website.

It will feature the launch of his debut collection ‘Distraction Tactic Flow’.

Walk-ins available on the night, though book to avoid disappointment.

Nigel Stonier, director of Nantwich Words and Music Festival, said: “Steven Langstaff is a genuine find, a poet of both head and heart whose words engage with an audience instantly, and then seem to make them laugh and gasp in equal measure.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
