Nantwich Town Council has appointed a new town clerk to take the council forward into 2012.

Former clerk Riddell Graham has been replaced by Ian Hope (pictured), a former planning officer.

Mr Hope, who was employed as town clerk at Frodsham and also serves two local parish councils, was educated in Nantwich and has spent most of his working life in the local area.

He now lives in Wrenbury with his wife and two daughters. Outside work his main interests are walking and cricket.

Leader of the Council Cllr John Lewis said: “With his local knowledge and background in local government, Ian will be a valuable asset to the council and will assist the members in making decisions about Nantwich’s future.”

Mr Hope said: “I am very pleased to be able to serve the residents of my local town.

“I’m looking forward to helping councillors tackle issues relating to the future growth of the town and how the council might take on the running of local facilities.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
