A Nantwich property firm has unveiled ambitious plans to redevelop the Regents College site off London Road.
Wes Heraty is working closely with site owners Elim Church to breathe new life into the former theological college.
Mr Heraty, managing director of Regents Park Property Management Ltd, said plans include as many as 21 new business offices in one wing of the main building.
The other wing will be renovated and maintained by Elim as a Christian retreat centre.
They are also looking at how they could use the former headmaster’s house at the rear of the site, a building of special interest.
“Elim is working closely with me, they are keen to see the site rejuvenated,” said Mr Heraty.
“Local businesses are opening up on the Regents Park site and doing well, so the future is promising here.”
The site has undergone some changes over the last 12 months since Elim vacated to move to their new base in Malvern.
New businesses such as So Beau, Funkey Monkey, X Academy, Location Location, Be Glamorous and Baby Roo’s Boutique have opened up.
And the former Woodlands nursery, closed down under controversial circumstances under previous owner CoG7 early last year, looks set to re-open under a new name and new management later this month.
Regents Park businesses are holding a table top sale at the venue on the morning of Saturday Jaunary 21 from 9am to 2pm.

Benefits – how about the creation of new jobs, new money into the area? The reopening of the nursery? A great and safe location for X Academy. The improvement of a beautiful park land that was starting to go to waste. Do I need to go on?
As Wes has suggested, why not go and visit the site and see both the waste it had become and also what the site could become?
Isn’t time we stopped moaning, living in the past and started supporting local businesses?

Thanks for your comments and thoughts on our plans. They are, at the moment, simply that.
We will of course be liaising with the local community to ensure that any changes we do follow through are for the good of Nantwich and its residents.

Where can these ambitious redevelopment plans for the Regents College site be inspected? Surely the community has the right to be formally consulted!
Woh Fred! I agree with your comments. Furthermore, how can the Planners accept that a Business Park is appropriate in the middle of an established Residential Area?
Barney, sorry but The Civic Hall is totally unsuitable for X Academy – beyond the issue of the amount of time X Academy is open for clashing with other established events, how would 200 parents dropping off / picking up their kids on a Saturday monring work?
I would appreciate if Mr Heraty could expand on this statement and advise to whom these plans have been unveiled to, also advise what benefits places like “the civic hall” and nantwich are going to see, all I can see of these plans is that features such as X acadamy would have been welcomed at the civic hall. And finally when was planning permission obtained for this new venture
