Almost 800 fans watched Nantwich Town coast to a comfortable 2-0 victory at home to Stafford Rangers.

Goals from Ben Mills and man of the match Chris Flynn earned the Dabbers a Boxing Day three points at the Weaver Stadium.

The hosts were the first to settle in the blustery conditions and dominated large parts of the game in the first period.

Young Tom Urwin was particularly  lively on the left and his fine work and cross helped set up Mills for the opener, the striker powering in a header in the 32nd minute.

Rangers struggled to get in to the game and were snuffed out by  a stubborn Dabbers defence when they did foray over the halfway line.

Nantwich sealed the game and points on the stroke of half-time, when Flynn crowned a fine first half display by popping up to grab a second in the 41st minute.

With the wind at their backs after the break, Stafford tried to apply more pressure.

But they were not incisive enought to breakdown a strong Dabbers defence.

Nantwich had chances to increase the lead, with substitute Rodney Jack teasing the visitors on several occasions.

The hosts held out comfortably to register a crucial three points. It moves them to ninth place in the Evo-Stik Premier League.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
