Hardy fund-raisers dressed up to take part in an annual Santa Dash in aid of St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice.

More than 250 people braved the wind and rain to take part in the event at Cheshire’s Oulton Park race circuit.

The brave Santas, some as young as 18 months old, completed a 5km lap of the circuit either by walking, running, cycling or on scooters.

Some were even wrapped up warm and pushed in their prams by their Santa parents.

The event raised about £14,000 for the hospice.

Jane Thompson, event organiser, said: “This is the first time we have had rain but everyone came full of Christmas spirit determined to enjoy the Dash and to raise much needed funds for their local hospice.”

There was also a farmers’ market, a Christmas trees sale, and a visit from Santa on the hospice’s own red double-decker bus.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
