Richmond Village cuddly toys

Hundreds of cuddly toys have been donated to Richmond Village Nantwich in aid of the Wingate Centre in Wrenbury.

Richmond Village, off London Road, joined forces with the town’s Sainsbury’s store on Middlewich Road to launch the toy appeal.

Sainsbury’s employee Olwyn Payton, Crewe & Nantwich’s local Volunteer of the Year, spearheaded the campaign to provide a cuddly toy for every child and young adult that stays at the Wingate Centre during the year.

Local community radio station The Cat also backed the appeal.

Hundreds of people have been calling in to the Village to hand in lots of cuddlies.

Lynne Griffin, Richmond Village manager, said: “We are delighted at the wonderful response from everyone.

“Cuddly toys have been delivered daily and we would like to thank everyone who has been so generous.

“The toys are being delivered to the Wingate Centre with the help of Twitchy the Cat from Cat Radio in time for Christmas.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
