Former Crewe Alex, West Ham United and England striker Dean Ashton will be starring at Nantwich Town’s Sportsman’s Dinner this year.
Ashton scored 89 goals in 241 senior games and was touted as an England number one striker in the making.
But a horror ankle injury while training with the England squad eventually ended his career early. He was forced to retire aged just 26 back in 2009.
The event will take place on Thursday October 14 at the Optimum Pay Stadium.
There will also be comedian Austin Knight performing.
