A housing scheme in Wrenbury, near Nantwich, has been given approval following an appeal.

Arena Housing Association and MCI Developments had their plans to build 14 affordable two and three bedroom homes on 1.5 acres off New Road turned down by Cheshire East Council’s planning committee.

But the association, represented by Mosaic Town Planning, has now won an appeal against that original decision, and the development looks set to go ahead.

This is despite dozens of residents objecting to the plans, including Wrenbury Parish Council and other groups.

Daniel Whitney, of Mosaic Town Planning, said: “It was accepted by both parties there was a need for affordable housing.

“The Inspector argued that the proposed ‘rural exception’ site was in a sustainable location and that there were no appropriate brownfield sites, contrary to the council’s reason for refusal.

“The full costs of the appeal process were awarded to Arena Housing Association due to the council’s unreasonable behaviour which resulted in wasted expense.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
