The annual Remembrance Sunday parade and service will not go ahead this weekend due to Covid restrictions, it has been announced.
The march and service at the Cenotaph in Nantwich town centre usually attracts hundreds of people.
But the current pandemic and national lockdown means it has been cancelled, along with the planned Armistice Day service.
Instead, there will be a live-streamed service held in St Mary’s Church this Sunday to mark the event.
A spokeswoman for Nantwich Town Council said: “We have been in regular contact with the Royal British Legion and St Mary’s Church and have collectively decided that this year there will be a live-streamed service which will be held at St Mary’s Church.
“Following Government guidelines, only those who are actively involved in delivering the service will be allowed in person at the church, assisting Rev Dr Mark Hart who will lead the service.
“The Chair of the Royal British Legion John Dwyer will deliver the Exhortation into a 2 minute silence and Mayor of Nantwich, Councillor Pam Kirkham will be reading the lesson.”

Nantwich Town Council will lay many of the wreaths ahead of the service.
Those still with wreaths to lay have been asked to lay them between Sunday and Wednesday November 8-11, adhering to social distancing guidelines.
“We kindly request that during this time you please stay mindful of the Government’s current guidelines and do not gather around the square especially during popular times<” the spokeswoman added.
“We understand many will be disappointed by not being able to attend the service this year.
