fines - lockdowns covid - coronavirus image

Dear Editor,

On the 14/10, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said: “Our strategy is to suppress the virus, supporting the economy, education & the NHS until a vaccine makes us safe.”

This is another blatant, bare-faced lie from Hancock.

None of the vaccine trials are designed to detect a reduction in any serious outcome such as hospitalisations, intensive care or deaths.

Nor are vaccines being studied to determine whether they can interrupt transmission of the virus.

The vaccine, if we ever get one, will NOT be the magic bullet to kill all COVID stone dead.

At best it will only be 50% effective.

People who are waiting for a vaccine to ride in to save us will be waiting a long time.

So what can we do?

We can do what we should have done from the beginning in March.

We should let the vulnerable isolate if they want to and support them.

The rest of us should be allowed to get on with our lives.

The lockdowns are killing far more than the ‘virus’.

The lockdowns should be ended immediately.

We have now had SEVEN MONTHS of lockdowns.

Enough is enough.

Yours,

Cllr Brian Silvester

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Brian should think before putting pen to paper. He is a failed politician (local) and perhaps should now retire gracefully.

  2. Cllr Brian Sylvester, never talked a lot of sense but this is total rubbish. No sensible person believes you can just lock the elderly and sick away, which actually includes him as well, and which totals several million people. The virus is not fussy about the people it infects and younger people may not die in the same numbers but they will definitely suffer the long term effects afterwards.
There is no way of eliminating the virus but if everybody followed the basic hands/face/space rules it could be controlled.
