pandemic fundraiser - Nantwich Town - Weaver Stadium

Generous donations from hundreds of people and local businesses have helped Nantwich Town raise £20,000 to help it survive the COVID pandemic.

Donations include £3,000 from Applewood Independent and another £1,000 from Everything Genetic Ltd.

The club launched the fundraising campaign just three weeks ago, as it faced crippling costs and no income due to five months of lockdown.

And this morning (August 23), their fund had reached £20,018!

Dabbers Chairman Jon Gold said: “This is fantastic news and we are frankly overwhelmed and sincerely grateful for all of the goodwill and generosity from everyone.

“And to have achieved this in just three weeks is beyond belief and shows what a wonderful community we all live in.

“I believe that there are still more pledges of donations still to come in over the next few days which is amazing.”

“We are delighted to be in a position to be able to help Nantwich Town further during this challenging time,” said David Pritchard, Applewood Independent’s managing director.

“We are fortunate that despite the challenges that Covid-19 has had on most businesses, we have been able to continue successfully, looking after and growing our client bank over these last few months when clients needed us most.”

“We would like to help the Football Club and the community where we all live and work further and hopefully this goes some way towards helping them to remain viable and return stronger, as they are a tremendous asset to our wonderful community.”

And James Price, of Everything Genetic Ltd, donated the final £1,000 to help reach the £20,000 target.

He said on the Justgiving Page: “Here’s what you need to complete the £20,000.

“Keep up the good work guys in these difficult times you’re keeping the local light shining.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
