Fire crews tackled a vehicle fire when a car went up in flames on the A51 London Road at Walgherton near Nantwich.

The incident happened at around 5.50am yesterday (August 22) when crews from Nantwich were called out to find the unoccupied vehicle well alight on a bend in the road.

The road was closed by police as firefighters worked at the scene.

A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.

The car’s battery was isolated, and once the fire was out the car was damped down to make it safe.

Affected materials were turned over to expose hotspots and temperatures were monitored with a hose reel jet.

Once firefighters were satisfied that the car was safe they handed the incident over to the police.

Firefighters were in attendance for around 50 minutes.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
