victim named - Air ambulance landed in field near Bishop's Wood

A man who died following an incident on Bridle Hey in Nantwich has been named as 32-year-old Jamie Evans.

Jamie, from the Runcorn area, died while working in the area on Thursday (August 13).

His family have been informed and have asked that their privacy be respected at this time.

The incident has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive.

Jamie had been working for SP Energy Networks at the time of the incident.

Guy Jefferson, SP Energy Networks’ Customer Service Director, said after the incident: “We’re saddened to confirm the death of an SP Energy Networks colleague working in the Nantwich area.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time and support is being provided to colleagues.

“The health and safety of our team is a priority for us and a full investigation into the incident is under way.

“It’s therefore inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

A Health and Safety Executive spokesperson said: “HSE are aware of the incident and making initial enquiries.”
