Sgt Ian Bennett retires

Tributes were paid to Nantwich Sgt Ian Bennett today as he retires following 25 years’ service in South Cheshire.

Sgt Bennett received high praise from colleagues and councillors at a ceremony held at Nantwich Civic Hall.

Colleagues said he will be “sadly missed” after leading the team in Nantwich at their Beam Street station for the past 11 years.

Nantwich Town Council Mayor Cllr Pam Kirkham hosted a civic reception to mark his retirement today (July 24).

Nantwich Police said: “He’s overwhelmed by how much the town appreciates all he has done during his 10+ years as Nantwich Sergeant.

“Our close working relationship with the council is invaluable.”

Cheshire Police Supt Paul Beauchamp was also at the reception, adding: “It was a pleasure working with Ian and an honour to be able to say a few words today.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
