Nantwich firefighters cycle ride planned

Nantwich fire crews are planning a mammoth 436-mile fundraising bike ride – in just 24 hours!

And they’ll be doing it in full firefighter kit – but won’t be leaving their Beam Street station.

They will be rotating through a 24-hour period to ride 436 miles on a WattBike.

It’s the return distance of Nantwich Fire Station to Harcombe House in Devon.

Traditionally, every fire station in the country holds an annual Car Wash and sometimes an open day to help raise funds.

But the current COVID-19 pandemic meant these have had to be cancelled.

It means the Firefighter’s Charity, which is based at Harcombe House and offers support to everyone that works or volunteers for the Fire Service, could miss out on up to £1 million of vital funds.

Nantwich fire crews will begin their fundraiser at  12pm on Saturday July 18 and be riding through the night until 12pm on Sunday July 19.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
