A man was seriously injured after his motorbike careered off a road and smashed into a wall in Nantwich.

The 19-year-old victim is in a serious but stable condition in hospital following the accident on Sound Lane, Ravensmoor.

Police were alerted to the crash at about 5.20pm last night (Thursday October 13).

The rider, who has not been named at this stage, suffered a serious head injury and a fractured wrist.

He was taken to Leighton Hospital where he is being treated.
