A 24-year-old Nantwich man has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life following a house fire in Crewe.

Tarren Mingins, of Cronkinson Oak, Nantwich, was arrested at around 10.40am yesterday (Wednesday April 15).

He was arrested in Nantwich.

The arson charge relates to a fire at a house in Smallbrook Walk, Crewe, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday April 15.

No one was inside the house other than two dogs. They were rescued by firefighters who extinguished the fire.

Mingins has also been charged with assault by beating and causing criminal damage to a property under £5,000 in connection with an incident in Lime Tree Avenue in Crewe on Tuesday April 14.

The two incidents he has been charged in connection with have also led to him being charged with two counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and one count of breaching bail conditions.

Mingins appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday April 16).

He was remanded into custody and is set to appear at Chester Crown Court via a video link on Thursday May 14.
