An investigation into a fire which killed a Nantwich couple has found it was started by discarded smoking materials.

Beryl Cooper, 80, and Peter Cooper, 82, were found unresponsive at their bungalow on Mount Close in Nantwich in February.

Cheshire Fire Service has carried out a month-long investigation into the incident.

Today, a Cheshire Fire spokesperson said: “The cause of the fire at an address in Mount Close Nantwich is believed to be discarded smoking materials.”

Three fire appliances from Nantwich, Audlem and Tarporley were called to the scene on February 9.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
