Nantwich CC 1st XI clinched their second successive Cheshire County Premier League title with a six-wicket victory over Toft at a jubilant Whitehouse Lane.

Nantwich captain Andrew Newton put the visitors into bat knowing the hosts needed just two points to retain the league crown.

And the bowling attack did not let him down, with Jimmy Warrington and Barrington Browne accounting for the first four Toft wickets.

The impressive Alex Matthews (4 for 9) and Ray Doyle (2 for 18) ripped through the lower order to dismiss Toft for 124.

Nantwich openers Jonathon Kettle and Glen Batticciotti set out at a pace in aq bid to finish the season with a victory.

Batticciotti went for 22 and Kettle was out on 36. Chris Simpson was unlucky to be run out for 13 and Sam Hunt continued his good form contributing 31.

So it was left to Rob Howell and George Cairns to guide Nantwich to a six-wicket victory.

Batticciotti, Kettle and Warrington have enjoyed exceptional seasons, it is the overall team effort which has been key to Nantwich’s success in 2011.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
