‘The Very Best In Stand Up’ returns to Nantwich Civic Hall with four top comedians in the line-up.
The first act of the evening is the wonderful Andrew Bird.
Fresh from opening for Michael McIntyre on his UK tour, Andrew is swapping arenas for the more intimate setting of Nantwich Civic Hall.
In demand as a writer for both TV and other comedians, Andrew is one of the most respected acts on the circuit and for good reason.
Sean Collins is the second act and is making his debut in Nantwich.
His unique style of observational story-telling has been honed for more than 20 years.
In 2000, Sean was nominated for two prestigious Canadian Comedy Awards – Best Male Stand Up & Comic’s Comedy Special.
In 2002, Sean had his first hour-long TV special as part of CTV’s ‘Comedy Now’ series, and building on this momentum, he performed a gala set at the 2003 ‘Just For Laughs Festival’ in Montreal.
Since leaving Canada for the UK and calling Gosport home, Sean Collins is now a headline favourite firmly established on the UK comedy club and corporate circuit.
Last up is the fantastic Andy Askins.
A first class, guitar-wielding comedian with a captivating voice and wickedly dry sense of humour.
Askins has an expertly crafted routine littered with an eclectic mix of offbeat comic songs and parodies.
Popular songs have been rewritten and given a perverse twist to tremendous comic effect.
With impeccable timing, his inventive and quirky songs are peppered with inspired patter and the darker material is sweetened by his impish demeanour which never fails to leave audiences in the palm of his hand.
Andy was last seen a few years ago when he headlined the New Year’s Eve comedy special at the Civic Hall where he received a rapturous standing ovation.
Compere and host is acerbic American Russell Hicks.
Hicks is one of the most exciting comics to come out of America.
Prolific and consistently delivering quality comedy, he will have you laughing all the way through.
He appears at The Comedy Club venues across the UK and has many TV credits in America. He is in high demand this side of the pond.
