A young Nantwich schoolgirl has cut off her long hair to help create wigs for children with cancer.
Big-hearted Laura Midwinter, aged 9, wanted to help the Little Princess Trust which creates wigs for children who lose their hair through cancer treatment.
She has her cut off at the Francesco Group Nantwich salon and also raised an amazing £1,100 to help make not just one but two wigs for the charity.
In a heart-warming letter, Laura wrote: “I often compliments about my hair which is 2ft long, curly and soft.
“The Little Pricess Trust asks for donations between 7 and 8 inches of hair.
“When you have the opportunity to help someone I think you should do it. When you donate your hair it could change someone’s life.
“It is very important to help people at an upsetting time, so that is why I did this and asked for donations.”
Laura’s parents Darren and Lesley Midwinter said: “When we started fundraising our target was £275.
“With the support of friends, family and colleagues we are thrilled to be on target to surpass £1,100, that’s enough to fund two whole wigs and is simply amazing.
“We are extremely proud of Laura and think her new hairstyle looks fantastic.”
A spokesperson for Francesco Group said: “We were absolutely thrilled to help Laura to donate her beautiful locks to this very important charity.
“We think she is an incredible young lady, warming the hearts of all our staff and clients.”
