armed police seize lock knife and mask in nantwich

Armed police have arrested a 16-year-old and seized a knife and mask after an incident in Nantwich.

The armed policing unit was called after reports of youths intimidating others in the Salt Meadows area of town.

Officers from the joint Cheshire and North Wales armed unit stopped and searched in Nantwich shortly after 10.30pm last night.

In a social media post shortly before midnight last night (March 14), police said: “ARV attended and detained the males, one in possession of lock knife and face covering.”

A Cheshire Police spokesman confirmed: “A 16-year-old was stopped and searched by officers yesterday evening and found in possession of a lock knife.

“He was arrested for possession of a bladed article and has since been release under investigation for referral to youth services.”

Officers across Cheshire and the country are currently engaged in a week-long Operation Sceptre campaign to crackdown on knife crime.

It follows a series of tragic knife-related deaths in cities and towns around the UK over the past 12 months.

This week, Chancellor Phillip Hammond pledged millions more pounds for police forces to help tackle the rise of knife crime.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

  1. What a frightening incident. These masks are intimidating without any knives. Which shop was targeted?
