Daliso Chaponda - Nantwich comedy

“The Very Best In Stand Up” live comedy returns to Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday February 1.

And promoters Civic Comedy have lined up a stellar cast for the first show of 2019.

The new season kicks off with three acts making their debuts at the Civic Hall.

The first act of the evening is Daliso Chaponda (pictured).

A long time friend of the club, Daliso played for the organisers when he first came to the UK from Canada.

Skip to 2019 and he’s a “Britain’s Got Talent” finalist and playing big shows to sold out theatres up and down the country.

The next act is making her Nantwich debut after a tremendous 2018 is Laura Lexx.

Following a critically-acclaimed run of her show Trying, Laura won Best Performer in the Comedian’s Choice Awards and was in the top 10 of Dave’s Funniest Joke of the Fringe at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe.

Laura also appeared on the BBC’s Christmas Edition of “Live At The Apollo”.

Last up are the wonderful “Raymond & Mr Timpkins Revue”.

They have to be seen to be believed – renown as one of the maddest, silliest, stupidest, cleverest, strangest and funniest double act of comedians on the circuit.

They are a prop/music driven double act, professionally dancing about and holding up words and pictures since 2004.

Compere and host is Stephen Bailey.

Named as one of the “acts to watch in 2019” by comedy website ‘Chortle’, Bailey is a comedian, presenter, television personality and writer.

His friendly and open brand of gossipy humour has made him one of the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming acts in comedy.

The show takes place on Friday February 1 and tickets are £10.

They can be purchased from the Civic Hall direct or online at www.civiccomedy.co.uk

Doors open at 7.15pm and the show starts at 8.15pm.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
