Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival will be headlined by Liverpool band Cast, organisers have revealed.
The 90s rock band will be performing live on the Sunday night of the festival in April.
They were originally formed in 1992 from the ashes of two of the most legendary and lauded guitar bands of all time, The La’s and Shack.
Cast released four albums, with ‘All Change’ becoming the biggest selling debut album of all time for Polydor Records.
Labelled ‘The Who of the 90s’, Noel Gallagher once described watching Cast play live as “a religious experience”.
The band split and went their separate ways before reforming in 2012, and have gone on to produce another album.
The band’s latest album, and their sixth studio album, ‘Kicking Up The Dust’, was released on April 21 2017.
Abbigail Ellwood, organiser of Nantwich Jazz, Blues & Music Festival, said: “I am delighted Cast are joining the Festival this year.
“The Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival is now in its 23rd year and this is the first time we have organised the festival since the sad loss of Phillip Martin.
“It has grown to be an event that the town and visitors from farther afield look forward to every Easter.
“We are expecting tickets to see Cast to go very quickly, especially on the back of their sell-out performance in Liverpool just before Christmas.”
Tickets are also available for other headline acts, including Saturday night triple bill – The Chris Bevington Organisation, Rebecca Downes and Robbie McIntosh.
Thursday night headliner is Martin Turner, ex-Wishbone Ash bass player who visits with his band on the Wishbone Gold tour.
Friday sees legendary Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden on stage with his band including local performer Jim Kirkpatrick, supported by Big Wolf Band.
Final headliner of the weekend sees Chris Helme (formerly of The Seahorses formed with John Squire) and his band take the stage.
A limited number of Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival wristbands are also on sale at an Early Bird price of £8.
The wristbands allow entry to all of the festival Round the Town venues, with more than 140 events across the Easter weekend, April 18-22.
