A man was seriously injured after being trapped underneath a tractor at a farm in Burland near Nantwich.

The man had to be rescued in a major fire service operation at the scene off the A534 Wrexham Road.

Fire crews from Nantwich and Crewe were joined by the major rescue unit from Winsford and paramedics.

They worked to extricate the farm worker from underneath the vehicle, using farm machinery, airbags and timber cribbing to assist with the rescue operation.

The man had suffered serious injuries and was passed into the care of the ambulance service before being taken to hospital.

In total, Cheshire Fire Service crews were involved in the operation for around one hour and 20 minutes.

The incident happened at around 10.40am on Saturday, November 17.
