Ambulance - trapped - man trapped (creative commons licence)

Two people have died after a collision on the A530 Whitchurch Road at Newhall, near Nantwich.

The accident involving a lorry and a car closed the road while air ambulances transferred those injured to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

But Cheshire Police have now confirmed two people in the car have died from their injuries.

A 63-year-old female, the passenger of the car, died as well as the driver of the car, a 66 year old male.

The road was closed from the junction of Wrenbury Road to the A525 near Combermere Abbey.

Two air ambulances, two land ambulances and a senior clinician attended the scene.

Two Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service appliances from Crewe and one from Winsford also attended the incident which happened at around 1.45pm yesterday (November 2).
