Electro 80's - what's on fundraising concert at the studio

The Studio Night Club in Nantwich is hosting an 80s themed concert to raise money for Mid Cheshire Hospitals’ dementia appeal on Friday October 12.

It features the Electronica tribute band ‘Electro 80s’ who will play hits by artists such as Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Gary Numan and Duran Duran and more.

The show also includes a light display and robotic dancer ‘Man-o-Chrome’.

Doors open at 8.30pm and entry is free with donations on the door to the ‘Everybody Knows Somebody’ dementia appeal.

The Wavemaker Bus will be at Nantwich Library from 10am to 3pm on Saturday October 13, , running a mobile digital laboratory where young makers will be able to try a range of activities, including an Electronic Orchestra, Robot Coding Challenge, and 3D Design, Printing and Manufacture.

It is a hands on introduction on programming for and the important skills youngsters will need for the future.

Children will use Wavemaker iPads pre loaded with 3D design apps and software participants will play and create unique 3D pieces.

These free workshops are part of EU Code Week, a joint initiative by SHIFT  and Cheshire East Libraries.

Wistaston annual Hall Quiz for the Fred Lorimer trophy takes place on Tuesday October 23 starting at 7pm at Wistaston Memorial Hall on Church Lane.

Entry is £12 per team of four including light refreshments. There will also be a raffle.

Nantwich Concert Band are staging a fundraising concert in aid of Hope House Hospice.

The show is on Saturday October 27 from 7.30pm in Nantwich Methodist Church.

Nantwich Museum Autumn Quiz Night in aid of museum funds will take place at 7pm on Sunday October 28 at Crewe Vagrants Sports Club in Willaston.

The popular quiz with prizes and a raffle will be overseen as usual by Quiz Master, Wyn Jones.

Entry is £5 per person (including light refreshments) and are available from the museum. Teams of four are ideal but not essential and could be made up on the night.

Delamere Forest is staging a range of activities for children and adults this autumn.

Delamere Outdoor Fitness offers weekly fitness sessions and is hosting themed runs, including a “Zombie Run” on October 28 and Delamere Santa Dash on December 16.

For youngsters, these is a Gruffalo Orienteering trail booklet with certificate and a course map from the forest for £1.50.

And from November 24, home-grown real Christmas trees will be available in the heart of the forest.

There are activities such as the Forest Holiday Club, Treemendous Tuesday Tales and Forest Fairies.
