helen kay poet - crewe lifestyle centre exhibition

Nantwich poet Helen Kay has launched an exhibition at Crewe Lifestyle Centre, writes Claire Faulkner.

The exhibition, called Poetry, Dyslexia and Imagination, features a range of poems, art, videos and music.

The aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness of dyslexia and to challenge the idea that people who have it are not creative or like being creative.

Helen said she has been overwhelmed by the reaction and contribution from local artists and writers.

The launch, on Saturday (August 4), included live music from The Side Project and readings from some of the poets featured in the exhibition, including nine-year-old Grace and guest poet Mark Pajak from Manchester.

The inspiring exhibition cleverly combines art and verse. It’s thought provoking, positive and celebratory of every contributor.

The exhibition is running at Crewe Lifestyle Centre until August 10.

Helen will be based at the centre all week to answer any questions.

After that the exhibition will move to Manchester on August 21.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
