An evening with Françoise Malby-Anthony talking about her new book, ‘An Elephant in My Kitchen: What the herd taught me about love, courage and survival’ took place in Nantwich, writes Jonathan White.

There was a welcome drink and refreshments at Nantwich Bookshop followed by the talk to a capacity audience at Nantwich Methodist Church on Hospital Street.

The ticket price also included a copy of the book.

“An Elephant in My Kitchen: What the herd taught me about love, courage and survival” tells the moving story of Françoise’s fight to protect a herd of elephants in South Africa.

Françoise Malby-Anthony was born in the South of France, brought up in Paris and has lived in South Africa since 1987.

She founded the Thula Thula game reserve in 1998 with her late husband, the renowned conservationist and best-selling author Lawrence Anthony.

When Lawrence died in 2012, Françoise took over the running of the reserve and is equally passionate about conservation.

She was the driving force behind setting up a wildlife rehabilitation centre at the reserve to care for orphaned animals.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
