Thousands of people will be descending on one of the biggest events of the year when Nantwich Show takes place next week.

And organisers will be relieved to see the weather is set fair for the next 10 days according to latest forecasts.

The show, at Dorfold Park off the A534, attracts tens of thousands of people offering a wide array of entertainment, activities, exhibitions, stalls and of course the International Cheese Awards – the world’s largest cheese show!

There are more than 5,000 entries to this year’s cheese show, a world record, housed in one of the biggest marquees in the world.

And a series of celebrity chefs will be performing live cooking demonstrations during the day inside the cheese marquee.

These include James Martin (pictured), Sean Wilson, Will Holland and Jonathan Harrison.

There will be 10 hours of continuous entertainment in the Main Ring in the centre of the Showground.

This will include a display of Heavy Horses, the return of Bolddog Lings – Freestyle Motorcycle Stunt Display Show, Vintage Cars and Tractors, The Cheshire Hounds & Beagles, The Pony Club Relay and Dog Protection Services.

There will be more than 450 trade stands open, as well as the huge Creative Crafts Marquee and the Mornflake Food Hall.

And there will be the animal shows in the Cattle Section in the fantastic Sugarich Marquee.

In the Poultry and Pigeon section, there will be exhibits of every breed possible and the evening is concluded with the Dog Show.

At the bottom of the field, will be the Countryside pursuits area which grows larger in numbers and popularity.

In the Horticultural Section, the Floral Art and Honey Sections make a great display with a full marquee, while the Home Produce, Arts & Crafts again have wonderful display of entries.

There will also be fun fair attractions and donkey rides.

Cllr Liz Wardlaw, Cheshire East Council deputy leader, said: “We are extremely fortunate in Cheshire East to cover 450 square miles of beautiful countryside across the borough – the Nantwich Show is another fantastic opportunity to showcase what we have to offer.

“Cheshire East is a brilliant visitor destination and events like the Nantwich Show really help to encourage local people and visitors to spend time in and contribute to our rural economy.”

Each year, 16 million people visit Cheshire East, which last year generated an income of more than £895 million.

The Nantwich Show and International Cheese Awards will open to the public on Wednesday July 25 when they will be able to see winning cheeses from more than 130 countries.

Free parking is available with gates opening at 8.30am.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
