Anthony Hawks, died in Porsche crash

A Nantwich man has died after his Porsche Boxster careered off the A54 and crashed into a bridge over a canal.

Father-of-four Anthony Hawks, 50, (pictured) was declared dead at the scene by emergency services after the incident on the A54 Bosley Road in Congleton.

The accident happened shortly before 9pm on Friday (June 22).

His black Porsche Boxster had come off the carriageway and landed on a grass embankment after colliding with the bridge over the Macclesfield Canal.

Mr Hawks’ family have released the following statement: “We are absolutely devastated by the tragic loss of Anthony.

“He was a devoted father of four, grandfather of two loving partner and brother of three. He will be sorely missed.”

Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding collision are ongoing.
